The IDEaS Challenge

This 6-week design competition, based on the Innovate, Design, Engineer and Sell framework, will equip students with the guidance, skills and resources to identify campus-based problems, develop a solution and market their product.

Learn New Skills

Through bootcamps and fabrication sessions, students can expect to learn skills such as CAD, Arduino, 3D Printing, Laser Cutting and Market Discovery.
Win Outstanding Prizes

Each team will be judged based on their Innovation (30 points), Value Proposition (40 points), Market Potential (30 points) and Show-and-Tell (30 points) capability. You may be rewarded with up to 50 BONUS POINTS during the IDEaS Challenge journey.

2nd Place: $2000
3rd Place: $1000
Best Participants: Mystery Gift

Winners will get the opportunity to work towards marketing their product.

Competition Winners

2) Teams to be formed by 3rd February. Inform us if you have difficulty forming teams. Separate online system will be set up to capture teams.

4) All teams to submit their journeys along the way – points to be given and special bonus prize to be given to the most compelling journey. Total of 50 points to be given here – special prize to be awarded.

5)If a prototype is realized at the end of the journey, we will reimburse up to $200 per team. This will only be reimbursed with original receipts, and can only be used for materials, components, etc. Travel expenses will not be covered, neither will contracting services.
